Surya Namaskar's Relevance in Boosting Immunity: Minister of AYUSH Encourages Mass Participation on Makar Sankranti 2022
More than 1 crore people are expected to perform Surya Namaskar on Makar Sankranti 2022, as part of a global demonstration program. Minister of AYUSH, Sarbananda Sonowal, highlighted the relevance of Surya Namaskar in boosting vitality and immunity, particularly during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. The Ministry of AYUSH has set a target of 75 lakh participants but hopes to exceed 1 crore registrations. Leading yoga institutes, both in India and abroad, including the Indian Yoga Association and National Yoga Sports Federation, will join the worldwide program. Participants can register and upload videos of their Surya Namaskar performance on January 14 through designated portals.
