Hot Yoga: A Promising Approach for Lowering Blood Pressure

Hot Yoga Shows Potential in Reducing Hypertension: Study Findings
Hot yoga has shown potential in reducing blood pressure, according to a study presented at Hypertension 2019 Scientific Sessions. The research involved 10 participants with elevated or stage 1 hypertension. Over a 12-week period, five participants engaged in three weekly hot yoga classes, while the other five formed a control group. After the study, the hot yoga group experienced a drop in systolic blood pressure from 126 mmHg to 121 mmHg, as well as a decrease in diastolic pressure from 82 mmHg to 79 mmHg. The control group did not exhibit any significant changes in blood pressure. Further research is needed to explore the benefits of hot yoga on hypertension.
